Hire HP-UX engineers to keep systems stable and plan the exit
Standard support for HP-UX 11i v3 ended on 31 December 2025. Your systems still run, but fixes have stopped and Itanium hardware is no longer made. We supply engineers who can keep HP-UX stable while you plan the move.
- UK contract with Dreams Technologies Hub Private Limited (VAT registered)
- Engineers delivered from our own Coimbatore office, India
- Shortlist within 5 working days
- Building software since 2013
What changed for HP-UX
HPE’s last HP-UX release, 11i v3, reached the end of standard support on 31 December 2025 and is now listed as mature support without sustaining engineering through at least 2028. Intel stopped shipping Itanium processors in 2021, so no new HP-UX servers are being built.
That leaves two jobs: keeping the current systems healthy with fewer vendor fixes, and moving the workloads somewhere supported. Both need people who know HP-UX well. Typical requests:
- Administration of HP-UX 11i v2 and v3 on Integrity and PA-RISC servers.
- Serviceguard cluster support and failover testing.
- Hardware risk reviews and spares planning.
- Porting applications built with HP aC++ to Linux.
- End-to-end HP-UX to Linux migration.
What our HP-UX engineers do
- Health checks, patch audits and hardening on unsupported systems.
- Serviceguard package management, upgrades and failover tests.
- Ignite-UX recovery images and tested restores.
- LVM and VxVM storage administration.
- Inventory of applications, scripts and dependencies for migration.
Profiles we supply
| Profile | Experience | Typical work |
|---|---|---|
| HP-UX administrator | 6+ years | Operations, patching, storage, recovery |
| Serviceguard specialist | 8+ years | Clusters, packages, failover design |
| HP-UX application porting engineer | 8+ years | aC++ and C code moves to GCC on Linux |
| HP-UX to Linux migration lead | 12+ years | Assessment, plan, cutover |
What we test in the technical interview
Every candidate is interviewed by one of our own senior engineers. We test the exact things your system depends on:
- HP-UX 11i v2 and v3 administration, swinstall and swlist.
- Serviceguard configuration, packages and testing.
- Ignite-UX and recovery procedures.
- LVM and Veritas Volume Manager.
- nPars, vPars and Integrity VM, where used.
- HP aC++ and the code changes needed to build with GCC.
Three ways to work with us
Dedicated specialist
A named engineer joins your team on a monthly time-and-materials basis. Best when you have live systems, an urgent gap and your own technical lead.
See support podsFixed-scope assessment
Two to three weeks, fixed fee. We map the code, the platform and the people risk, then give you options with effort ranges. Best when nobody fully understands the system any more.
See the assessmentMigration project
Fixed price once the assessment is done. We port, test, run in parallel and cut over. Best when you have decided to leave the platform.

Why teams come to us for scarce skills
Finding thin talent pools is our core skill
Large service firms rarely staff a single Pro*C or HP-UX role quickly. We keep a vetted network of engineers who have these skills and want this work.
Screened by people who have done the work
Our own senior engineers run the technical interview. Candidates are tested on the platform you run, not on general programming.
UK contract, India delivery
You contract with our UK company. The work is delivered from our own office in Coimbatore with working hours that overlap the UK day.
AI-assisted code understanding
Our team works with Claude Code to read, document and test old codebases faster. Every finding is checked by an engineer before it reaches you.
Continuity built in
Every engagement keeps a runbook and code notes from week one, and a second engineer is briefed on your system. Losing one person does not mean losing the knowledge.
We also run the migration
When you are ready to leave the platform, the same team that kept it running plans and delivers the move.
Tell us what you’re running
Send us the stack and the problem. We’ll reply within one working day and, if it’s a staffing request, send a shortlist within five.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to keep running HP-UX after support ended?
For a while, with care. The risks grow over time: no new fixes, ageing hardware and fewer people who know the platform. We help you manage those risks while you plan the move.
Can you help even if we have no HPE support contract?
Yes. Our engineers work from experience and your own documentation. Some patches may not be available to you without HPE support, and we’ll be clear about that.
How long does a move off HP-UX take?
It depends on the number of applications and how much custom C code is involved. Our assessment gives you a realistic range within two to three weeks.
